Witch Hunting at Gardner's Village

Everything is "Spooky Halloween" according to Christian, then he reminds us "it's just pretend mom, it's just pretend" as he tries to convince himself. Buzz enjoyed dancing with the witches and shouting his catch phrase: "To Infinity and Beyond."

Apparently he's already at the age when the costume choice changes daily so watch for more costums to come...and he always announces what the rest of us will be. The latest: "I'm gonna be Peter Pan-that guy that flies and daddy will be Cack-tain Hook and mommy is Wendy and Mason will be Tinkerbell!" Such a great imagination. I thought a pirate was more appropriate for Mason than Tinkerbell but we'll see what Christian thinks come Halloween. Aren't holidays so much better with kids around?! I just love Halloween-time...

Go Utah!

Family Bonding time at the Utes game a couple weeks ago. Christian loves loves loves sports and will actually watch the game, as long as there's a big bag of popcorn on his lap. Gotta love the 80's glasses compliments of Aunt Paige and Nana.

Mr. Mason - 3 Months Old

Our Little Mason
* Loves to be held and halked to constantly
* Has 4 dimples when he smiles big, one in each cheek and above the corners of his mouth like a little mustache. His Big Blue Eyes smile too-melts mom's heart...
* Sneezes in the sunlight (guess the myth is true).
* Mommy calls him lil' Stink when he's fussy, also appropriate for his gas issues, this kido rips the loudest farts!
* Is very vocal - always grunting, moaning, cooing or screaming - gotta love those sweet baby sounds.
* Sleeps best on his tummy, helps soothe those dang gas pains.
* Giggles when Big Brother "baby talks" to him.
* Will not take a binky, much to Mom & Dad's dismay. Discovered his Thumb yesterday (hooray-this boy needs a little self-soothing action).

We are so grateful to have Mason in our lives, he brings us so much joy (even if the lil' stink keeps us up all night :)

To Infinity and Beyond!

Testing out the Buzz costume from Grandma's vast selection. We peered out to the deck to see Christian leaping from the lawn chair shouting "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND" as he jumped. If only we could all play like 2-year-olds, such a joy!

Lazy Morning

We just got dressed for the day. Ate breakfast at 11 and feeling totally unmotivated. Maybe it's the back to work hangover (yes it was my first week back) or the serious lack of sleep (baby needs sleep training). Or maybe it's exhaustion from non-stop play the last few weeks. My house is a disaster, anyone know of a good housekeeper for hire?? It looks like another beautiful day out and cold weather will arrive soon (so depressing). Guess we'll say no to chores today and go play some more.

Another Day at the Zoo

We frequent the zoo often thanks to the good ole' season pass. Christian's favorite Aunt Nat, Uncle Andrew, and cousins Braxton & Hailee were in town from Cali so Christian was thrilled to hangout with them! As you can see, it was more like Andrew & the kid's day at the zoo. He makes a great Manny! Christian pretends to call "Bob & Nat" daily, I'll hear him in the other room "hi Bob & Nat, what doing? I'm just hanging out with my mom. You come on airplane to my house?" He misses them dearly!




The highlight of the day was getting to meet Troy's high school girlfriend (who sent him on his mission with talks of marriage) - pretty entertaining - I was video taping my kido on the merry-go-round and she was in the background of all my shots. She was actually really nice...dang I should have taken a picture to post :)

Mason's Special Day

We blessed Mason at church last Sunday and it turned out to be such a great day with all our family! Christian didn't know what to do having everyone he loves and adores all in one place - he was on cloud nine!

So Many Girlfriends

Christian has several darling girlfriends (thanks to mom's friends having girls). Last week we hit the zoo for Livvy's 3rd birthday (thanks for the fun day Jess) and Gardner's Village to ride horses and see the witches with Bella. If you haven't been lately, go check out all the cool witches before Halloween.

Had to Share

Last Sunday Troy and Christian sat down in church and looked at the program. Troy said, "look buddy, Tennyson's dad (his friend) is talking in church today." Then Christian looked at the program and saw a picture of Jesus and said, "And look daddy, Jesus is talking today too!" Isn't that the cutest thing! He continues to entertain us daily...

No it's not the latest dance craze (well maybe)...but I wanted to share this cool FREE service. You can text cha cha (242 242) any question and get an instant response for FREE (regular text costs). I've been using it instead of calling information to get addresses, phone numbers, movie times (not that I'm able to catch a movie lately). My family has also sent questions such as "how deep is Lake Tahoe?" or "why do dogs eat poop?" and each time they get the correct answer back. My brother even went as far to ask if it was a person or computer answering our texts (real people) and how do they get paid (through ads however I've never received one). Try it out!

Christian always wants to be just like his Daddy, this time Daddy decided to dress like Christian, boy was he excited!!

Cold Night at the Fair

Christian loved petting the bunnies and goats (who rummaged through our goods). For those of you who missed the fair, you really didn't miss much. It was the typical over-priced ($6 for one ride!) and white-trash event but we enjoyed lots of good junk food (yummy Navajo tacos) and Christian had fun! At least the bounce house guy was high and let Christian jump for 20 min. on one ticket.

Moab Wedding

My very first friend Ashley Christensen (we've been friends since preschool) got married in Moab last weekend. Troy couldn't join me due to the annual Chad Morgan golf tournament also taking place. So I dragged my mom along to be my nanny for the weekend. Our not so relaxing road trip included my 2 kidos and my mom's 2 dogs (one being blind) piled into one small hotel room. There wasn't much sleep or sightseeing but we accomplished the mission of attending the wedding which was beautiful!

The Happy Couple

The setting was up the canyon at Red Cliffs Lodge with towering red rocks and the Colorado River in the background. The ceremony was followed by a fancy and fabulous dinner (another not so kid friendly event). The first night the entire wedding group took a jet boat river cruise followed by a Mexican feast. It was fun catching up with old friends but in hindsight I would not have brought my babies (although Mason is too little to leave behind). Congrats to Ashley & Marshall who are now honeymooning in Croatia (after a destination wedding, who could settle for ordinary)-thanks for the fun Moab festivities! And thank-you Mom/Nana for all your help on our wild weekend getaway!

We are so domestic with our gardening skills! Christian loves helping mommy and daddy pick veggies from the garden. In fact, we actually get him to eat tomatoes if he gets to pick them, help cut them, and salt them himself. Our zucchinis have been as big as him this year! Let us know if anyone wants some, we're happy to share the wealth! I've been baking zucchini bread like crazy!

Already September?

Where has the summer gone?! It's hard finding time to blog these days, let alone take a shower or do anything for myself! We've had a busy couple weeks - my grandma's 75th surprise b-day party, my step-mom's surprise 50th b-day, my youngest brother Connor's b-day party, a couple weddings (yes we have a huge family), plus we hit Swiss Days in Midway, the zoo and Discovery Gateway. Exhausting but fun! Mason has been smiling and talking to us a lot lately, he's much happier and not screaming so much (thankfully!!)

My fabulous and hip Grammie turned 75 last week and we had a surprise birthday/pool party for her. It's always fun getting together with my wild, not camera-shy family-checkout my crazy Aunt Faye, either making an obscene boob comment or flashing a gang sign, she's great entertainment!
