Miss Mia is SO big!

My baby girl is 8 months old and SO big! 18 lbs. She is the happiest little thing, content sitting on the ground playing with all her toys. She LOVES our kitty -  squeals when she sees her and mauls her to death (kitty is a good sport). Mia just started crawling (I'm still in shock she is big enough!) and she has definitely found her voice - squawking very loudly when she wants to eat or to alarm us that big brother is in her face. If we don't give her IMMEDIATE attention, the volume gets louder and louder.

She is the happiest little girl and loves her mama, which I don't mind one bit.
She dances to a good beat or her brothers singing or playing the electric guitar. She loves her food and is a good lil eater. She was diving for her sweet potatoes the first time she tried them. I've never had a baby love baby food so much. Now that she's discovered how good our food is, she squawks even louder til we share then dances and smiles with approval.
Mia loves her blankies and must bury her face in them to go to sleep. Still not sleeping through the night though. Need to work on that!

Miss Mia looks just like her daddy, aunts and Morgan cousins...hard to believe there's an ounce of me in her (especially with that pale complexion, blue eyes and white hair). Good thing she has a cute daddy (with VERY strong genes).
We just adore our smiley, chunky thighed baby girl so much!

Daddy Long Legs

Mason: Mom, hurry there's a spider on the stairs and we need to get it. It's a biting one cause it has green on it's back and we need to take him back to his home.
Mom: Where does he live?
Mason: Outside with the other spiders in the spider webs. But mom did you know daddy long legs don't live with the other spiders, they live with their families, with the mommy long legs and the baby long legs. And they do not bite. And some spiders are creepy and some spiders are not creepy ones."

He is just full of information and when he gets on a topic there is no stopping him.
Another recent conversation was about how bats are vampires and we can't go out at night without lights because of the bats. He was very concerned about that one.

Soccer Dudes

Mr. Mason's first year playing soccer and he loved to get out there and run with all his friends. He always had his eye on mom when the camera was out, just like this (run and pose).
He even scored a goal!
 Check our our awesome trophies!
High fives from coach after a goal - way to go Christian!

Whose Birthday Anyway?? Ninjago Party

It was really hard to tell whose special day it was - BIG brother or the LITTLE brother??
The countdown was on for months, weeks and days. The day before, little brother ran up to me first thing in the morning yelling, "okay whatever, when's it gonna be Christian's birthday so he can share all his toys with me?!" Clearly, he was sick and tired of the countdown. His Nana took him shopping to get presents for big brother and sent him home with strict rules: "DO NOT TELL CHRISTIAN WHAT WE GOT HIM!" Who was she kidding??  (Note to Nana: he is 3 - of course he's going to tell.) He ran in the house with 2 wrapped boxes so excited he could hardly stand it. He was wired, running around yelling how he knows what they are but can't tell. Then the guessing game began. Those presents came to the dinner table with Mason and to bed with him. Mind you, it was NOT his birthday and he was sleeping with his big brothers presents. That night before birthday Christian lost his 2nd tooth and put it under his pillow.
Birthday morn - crack of dawn:
I'm up feeding the baby when Mason comes tearing up the stairs yelling "look what the tooth fairy brought Christian" as he waved the bills in the air. "And it's his birthday and I woke him up so we can open all the presents!!" It was 6:45 a.m. - my boys are never up before 8! Poor birthday boy comes stumbling up the stairs half asleep and hadn't even remembered to check for tooth fairy money. No worries, somebody already took care of that. Then immediately they had to start opening presents at 7 am (THEY, that's right, Mason as well). Too funny. Let's see if he gets that excited for his OWN birthday this year!

Ninjago Party with Friends(1 of 5 celebrations for Christian - hey, we like to party around here)
Ninjago translation (for those of you without little boys): lego ninja guys that battle each other.
We are over Star Wars at our house (for now at least) and onto the latest cool gadget.
Attempting to get crafty...Cupcakes and Chinese Lanterns with Ninjago "Angry Eyes"
Uncle Johnny (aka Ninja Master Sensei Wu) taught the ninja boys their moves to earn their belts, swords and ninja costumes. He was a HIT! Jumping off the deck, doing kicks and flips. The REAL DEAL. I've never seen little boys sit so quietly and be so serious.
My theatrical mother insisted that we ALL get into character
(you should have heard her bad attempt at a ninja accent). Thanks Nana for getting all the
impromptu ninja costumes. They were AWESOME!
Ninja Master Jace (aka grandpa) teaching the young ninjas some moves.
