T-Ball Brothers

Cutest lil T-Ball brothers & buddies

The boys loved playing T-ball this summer and were at the perfect ages to be on the same team this year. Mason needed a little coaxing. He showed up for his first game wearing his full Jedi Knight costume with robe and light saber. I tried to trade him the mitt for his light saber but he said, "Jedis don't use mitts Mom." So he played in his costume with the saber clipped to his shorts. Daddy was mortified that he was taking his favorite sport more seriously but hey, someone needed to to entertain the crowd.

The next week, he wore his man purse (aka "the murse") full of all his Star Wars guys and ran the bases with it strapped on. Now those were the games I needed to take pictures of. By the end of season, he was able to leave his gear on the sidelines and actually play ball. SUCCESS!!

Back to School

Big Kindy-gartner! And school bullies already??

Yep, our Christian is all grown up and headed off to the big elementary school. He was over us talking about it and walked right in like a cool kid. He loves school and making new friends so he was definitely ready.
However I'm not sure I was ready for his comment a few days later.
C: "Mom, a kid in the other class called me a jerk on the playground."
Me: "Oh really, what did you do?"
C: "Nothing, I just walked away."
Me: "That's good. Next time, tell him that's rude."
C: "Well at first I didn't know if he was talking to me, then he said 'Hey I'm talking to you jerk!'"
Me: (almost laughing) "That is not nice."

Oh the name calling and bullying is just beginning and "jerk" is pretty mild. It didn't seem to bother him much, he was just telling me how it went down, but still kind of sad that his sweet innocence will be gone too soon.

At the school carnival a week later, Christian pointed out the "rude kid" and let's just say I wasn't surprised. Fit the stereotype bully. We'll leave it at that for now. I will control the mama bear within and let him fend for himself for now but that lil playground bully better watch his back! :)

PRESCHOOL for Mr. Mason
Mason's 1st Day wasn't quite a breeze. He had been SO excited for preschool, asking about it for weeks and talking about being a big boy (seeing he just got potty trained 2 weeks ago - FINALLY). Orientation day with mom there was just dandy but when the first day came to go alone, he wouldn't let daddy leave him. He threw a fit and daddy, being the softie his is, ended up staying the whole 2 hours!

Check out my awesome Darth Vader bag!

Happy camper with his spider man in tow and mom by his side.

Annual Lagoon Day

Troy's grandma takes the whole extended fam to Lagoon each year, matching shirts and all. Yep, we are THAT family in the dorky shirts. This time they paid tribute to Twirl Town Toys, Troy's late-grandpa's old toy company. Being 8 months preggers, we took it easy and just headed up for the evening which was perfect. As always the boys (Troy included) loved the rides, games and junk food. And as if this wasn't enough theme park fun, we jetted off to Disneyland the next week! We're nuts...

Like Daddy, Mr. Mason is all about the food...

Baby Countdown

3 weeks and 2 days in counting - YIKES! It still doesn't seem like reality that I'll be holding my sweet baby girl SO SOON! I really am thrilled to meet her, see what she looks like, hold her and soak in the newborn stage. I LOVE it!! But honestly, I'm really not miserable yet. Still sleeping decent (knock on wood), not too hot or uncomfortable or swollen or any of those not so fun things. I'm truly grateful that I feel so good while preggers, I know it's rare. Other than feeling huge, not being able to bend over, occasional body parts jabbing my organs, peeing every 10 minutes, protecting my large belly from my wrestling boys and losing my breath after walking up my stairs...I feel pretty great! No complaints (okay, the difficulty of shaving legs is a struggle but that's minor).

The true test will be next weekend when I'm in charge of my company party for 6,000+ people at This is the Place Heritage Park. Have you walked those steep dirt paths in the heat?? It kicks off with an early morning 5k race (not that I'll be running but I'll be setting up and shuffling the crowds, large and in charge), live entertainment, catered BBQ lunch, etc. - all planned by yours truly. I'll be cruising the hills of the park in a sweet golf cart and hoping for no labor pains. If I can survive my big event, I'm home free. Not too worried since I've never actually gone into labor myself, let alone early. But maybe this event will kick off some action!

Am I ready otherwise?? Let's say I've had my fun buying pink clothes, girly accessories (oh the headbands, bows, tights and shoes gallore) and blankies. Still haven't got the nursery setup, crib moved, baby gear out of shed or anything washed. Guess I have a busy few weeks of "nesting" ahead. What are your favorite baby girl shopping spots and must have accessories?? Even being the girly girl that I am, this pink & ruffles baby shopping is still new to my world of superheroes and weapons. Please share your tips my friends!

Let the countdown begin!

Cowboys

More summer fun in Lyman, Wyoming of all places. That's right, the extended Morgan clan headed to the little cowboy town for some good ole' fashioned Pioneer Day fun. Christian rode in the parade with Grandma, Grandpa, aunts, uncles and cousins. We hit the local rodeo where the kids got to chase some poor chickens and goats for cash. Mason even made some new friends and actually SHARED his Star Wars guys. This is a big move for him. Maybe the bully stage is actually passing. Woo hoo!

Christian was in heaven with cousins visiting from Arizona all summer.

The little guy in the hat, that's our Christian on the float!

Mason enjoyed a mouthful of candy while watching the parade.
