Day Out with Thomas

We took Christian to see Thomas the Train in Heber on Friday. He was so excited the whole way there, then a little overwhelmed once we arrived. It was a mob scene of parents and kids decked out in Thomas gear. He had the most fun eating at Dairy Keen afterwards and seeing the little train go around the restaurant - go figure, cheap entertainment is the best! Thanks to Nana for a fun day and new Thomas gear!

Apparently getting a sticker tattoo is a very terrifying experience - and we were forcing it, so mean!! :)

3D Ultrasound - 30 Weeks

Only 2 More Months in Counting...Christian and my mom came with me to my second 3D ultrasound last week - we told Christian we were watching a movie and he kept saying "There's a Monkey!" The pics look almost identical to Christian's 30 week ultrasound - those dang Morgans have strong genes - at least they are cute :)

Christian "loving the baby," or more like mommy forcing him to :)

Christian Turns 2!!

We had a big, wild party at Jungle Jim's Playland (30+ people)! The kids loved all the rides and games. Christian sure has a lot of family and friends who love him! He loved his "choo choo" cake (isn't it darling) and it was a train birthday for sure - he made a haul on Thomas stuff! We can't believe our baby is already 2! Such a fun celebration...

Christian is IT!!

Christian was tagged by his girlfriend Olivia so here are 10 things we love about Christian...

1. He loves singing nursery rhymes, especially in the car...he'll belt out BINGO, No More Monkeys Jumping on the Bed, E-I-E-I-O and he wants us to sing too and then yells, "Again Mom, Again!" It's too cute!
2. He has a stuffed bunny that says the "Child's Prayer" when you squeeze it. He came out of his room with it, folding his arms then when it finished, he proudly exclaimed, "Amen" and then played it over and over again.
3. He has a tender heart like his Daddy. If you get mad or even raise your voice at him, he gets a big pouty lip and his eyes well up with tears and he wants you to console him, it's really sweet.
4. He loves to help Daddy with yard work or fix things, as soon as Troy gets out the lawn mower or a screw driver, Christian runs to get his and help Daddy...then he shouts "I did it!" or "Daddy fixed it!"
5. He's obsessed with playing all sports, anything with a ball he can hit, throw or catch (and he's quite good). He'll even watch ESPN with Daddy and tell him what he's in the mood for "Baseball, Golf, "Hoopball" or even Hockey on occasion.
6. He likes to copy mom too but when I try to tell him that curlers and nail polish are only for girls, he gets pretty upset! :)
7. He points out all the churches we see when we're driving - "there's a church!" and then "bye bye church" as we pass it.
8. He adores his cousins and aunts, whenever we ask him what he wants to do today, he gets excited and shouts "see Bob & Nat" (cousin Braxton & aunt Nat) or "Kiley & I I (his nickname for cousing Irelyn). He's lucky to have so many cousins close by.
9. He's obsessed with "choo choo trains" and has to take at least 2 with him everywhere we go.
10. He entertains us daily with the cute things he says - he talks so well now - and all the funny things he does. He's all boy and already has strong opinions on what he wants to wear, eat and do. His little brother is going to have a lot of competition!

Happy Anniversary Today!

You gotta love the dip and kiss shot...memories from an amazing day in our lives...4/8/2005.
To celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary, we had a romantic stay at the Zermatt Resort & Spa in Midway Saturday night. We started our evening with a fabulous couples massage (I highly recommend their spa) then we had a fancy dinner and rented a chick flick in bed (OK, only after Troy made me watch the rest of the college basketball game but it was a good compromise). Then we enjoyed breakfast in bed Sunday morning before heading out. It was such a nice getaway and much-needed break from our kido (thanks to my mom). It's hard to believe we've only been married for 3 years since we dated forever. It's been a great ride so far and we're looking forward to many more anniversaries to come...

The Winter that Just Won't Die...

Waking up to a foot of snow on my car this morning really makes me question why I live in Utah?! What happened to the first day of spring and where is that spring weather hiding?? Take me back to the beach!!

My Mom is Engaged!!

Congratulations to my mom and Jace who recently got engaged!! We are so happy that Jace will be joining our family for good - he's a great guy and we're lucky to have him in our lives (especially Christian who adores him)!

Happy Easter

All Dressed Up in Our Easter Best

Whatever happened to the days where kids actually had to "hunt" for the eggs?? The Easter Egg Hunts were more like busted pinatas of candy dumped on the grass while parents tackled each other for the candy until it was gone in 30 seconds! Very ENTERTAINING and great people watching!

Grandma Jody's egg hunt never fails to impress - the kids (and adults) truly had to hunt for treasures and we all came home with big bucks! Good times...
Look what the Easter Bunny brought me! All he cared about was his new Thomas trains, he loves "choo choos!" We hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend!!

First Haircut and Battered Child!

Christian got his first haircut last weekend with cousins Kiley and Irelyn. It was finally time to lose the mullet (even though I hated to see all those ringlets go). I didn't let them go too short so he still has some curls. :) We went to Cookie Cutters where they can sit in cars, watch a movie, get a balloon and sucker - all while tricking them into a haircut...such a great idea!
This is what happens when you run away from mom (or Aunt Alli) and trip and fall on pavement - OUCH!!

Beautiful Maui

My belly doubled in size during our trip-Hawaiian air makes for good "baby growing!"

Another year in beautiful Maui, we are so spoiled! It was perfect weather for bumming on the beach every day. Christian had a blast swimming in the pirate ship kiddie pool, playing in the sand (throwing it and wrestling with Jace) and chasing the waves - he'd yell "here comes one" then squeal and splash in it. He thought he was so big that he didn't want to wear his floaties after day 2. We took a ride on the Sugar Cane Train (twice), something we used to do each year when I was a kid. Christian has a new obsession with Thomas the Train so he loved the "choo choo."

In all my years going to Hawaii, I've never seen so many whales - at least 5 a day right in front of our hotel - mommies with babies jumping out of the water together, it was so amazing! We took a fun boat trip and ate lots of yummy, fresh seafood. We ventured the long, windy drive to Hana, which was beautiful but we later dubbed it the road to hell - the 50 mile single lane, cliffside stretch took about 4 hours to get there! Christian swam in the 7 sacred pools at the top with Nana and Jace. It was really pretty but we definitely don't need to go back for another 20 years! It was so hard leaving Paradise and coming back to reality and cold weather...I'm already planning my next trip, hopefully next year?

Scoping out chicks at the kiddie pool!

Brek, Christian & Nana (my mom) lounging on the boat.

St. George & Vegas Trip

Oh how the sunshine works wonders for my soul! We hit St. George and Vegas over President's weekend for a break from the cold, dreadful weather. My step-mom Linda, 2 brothers and sister joined us. Troy golfed all weekend with my brother Dallin and friends (John Frank and Jon Morgan). Christian has become obsessed with his mini skateboard (thanks to watching my brother Connor skate). He wouldn't put it down the entire weekend - he would throw it down and jump on it, trying to do tricks. So entertaining!!
Little Skate Punk throwing down some tricks! Read the shirt...
We went to the see the dolphins and tiger exhibit at the Mirage and did some shopping at the Aladdin shops (now Planet Hollywood). Christian enjoyed trying on the heels and bras, I think I take him shopping too much!!

Ultrasound PIcs

We had our big ultrasound today and our boy is still a boy...everything looks perfect so far! We're grateful for 10 fingers and 10 toes and all the rest. The ultrasound place took 3D images but Jr. wouldn't move his hands away from his face or hold still. The tech kept saying "he's a mover and a shaker!" That's for sure, I've been feeling him kick for awhile now. We're almost half-way there, hard to believe!

Remembering Chad...February 5, 2006

Troy's brother Chad passed away 2 years ago yesterday, it's hard to believe 2 years have already gone by. We spent the evening hanging with the family and looking at old family videos and pictures of Chad. We will forever miss his great sense of humor and sweet spirit. We love you Chad!!

Potty Hat & New Hot Rod

Christian got his potty seat stuck on his head! No he's not potty trained but he's obsessed with his potty and thought it would make a nice hat. He was bawling and I couldn't stop laughing! I couldn't pull it off for the life of me. After I called Troy to come home from work and cut it off, Christian finally wedged it off, leaving a couple big grooves in his forehead. Of course I had to capture the moment...

Grandpa John got him this new hot rod trike - late Christmas present, he can't reach the peddles but he's figured out how to ring the bell over and over again!

We're having a...

BOY!!! Our friend who is a labor and delivery nurse gave us an early ultrasound last week, however the baby wouldn't spread 'em! We tried again yesterday and thanks to Holly's great advise to drink a Coke first, the baby was much more active and showed us his goods. Christian is having a brother! It will be so fun having two boys close together and the best part is that now I definitely get to have 3 kids (Troy is pretty set on 2). I can also justify all the nice clothes I buy Christian since they'll get worn again. So exciting! I'll try to scan the ultrasound pics and add them to the post later...

Christmas Morning

Annual Christmas Morning PJ Pic
My mom buys us all matching PJs that we open on Christmas Eve...

Christmas was so fun this year now that Christian is starting to get it. He loved opening all his presents and handing presents out to everyone else. His favorite gifts included his "Hoopball" (as he calls it), his new Elmo backpack and tool set (especially the electric drill that he won't put down). Troy and I got a resort & spa package from my mom, hence the robe & wine glasses shot...can't wait to endulge! We had a great holiday and were able to spend time with all our families, we are truly blessed!

Slam Dunk!!

Scary Santa & Cousin Nativity Scene

Christian loved Santa (from afar that is), he would point and chant "Ho Ho Ho" but as soon as he got too close, he freaked out!

OK, I can see how Santa's a bit scary. I found it thoroughly entertaining watching my child scream on Santa's lap, am I a mean mom?? :)

The Morgan Family attempted to recreate the Nativity at a family party, however it looked more like the Herdmans with screaming angels and crying shepherds. Christian refused to wear the shepherd hat so he was a "king shepherd" instead, quite amusing!
