Week of Injuries

So maybe I want a little sympathy or just really need to vent...My poor baby burned himself on my curling iron on Tuesday (BAD MOM). Ironic that I was just blogging about it being his favorite toy (MOM SHOULD KNOW BETTER). Usually I'm so good at keeping everything unplugged and out of reach but it happened SOOO FAST! Poor kiddo. Then the pediatrician basically pinned him down and scraped the outer skin off - twice this week - OUCH! He's showing no sign of discomfort - back to his wild, busy ways but this will definitely put a damper on our sun and water activities for awhile...please don't scar too bad.

Then to top it off, I got a bug bite last weekend (or a "ba-squito bite" as Christian says) that turned into a nasty staph infection on my entire forearm. It was hot and throbbing and my entire arm was swollen and tender. I had to get it sliced opened and drained and now I'm on heavy duty antibiotics which are making me nauseous. When I tell anyone in the medical field it's Mersa Staph, they freak out about how dangerous it is and hard to get rid of. GREAT! I'm feeling much better but still can't believe a bug bite turned so traumatic! So now you know, watch out for those ba-squitos!!

I wouldn't gross anyone out by posting a picture of the actual wound - disgusting - but here's my gauze cast post-slicing/draining (for sympathy factor).

See the 2 burns along his jaw and under his ear, so sad.

Oh no not MERSA!!! My friends little girl has had that and now evertime she gets a sliver or bad cut it turns into it again! Be Careful with that! Poor Mason! That looks like to hurts.

I am so sorry - what a bummer of a week. You are not a bad mom - these things can happen to anyone, because it only takes a split second. I cannot believe that about you mosquito bite. It sounds like quite the run of bad luck for you.

I am so sorry! One of Colter's friends is fighting a MRSA mosquito bite too. Yuck! Hopefully the Antibiotics are doing the job. I think they tried 3 until they found the right one for him. Oh and this is the second time for him. Hope you're on the mend. As for little Mason, That is so sad. Don't beat yourself up though. It happens to the best Moms. I hope you have a much better week:)
